The problem

The textile industry contributes up to 10% of the pollution driving the climate crisis.

Furthermore, workers in this industry are among the lowest paid in the world. But this can change. Demand better practices; what you buy is what the industry becomes.

Buy Less.

What you buy is a choice that has transformative power.

Reduce your impact on people and the planet; join the fight against irresponsible fast fashion manufacturing. Buy quality, secondhand, and multifunctional clothing and gear. Wear it, repair it, and repeat.

I demanded more.

Informed consumers will force the textile industry to abandon its bad practices.

Don't assume. Make sure your clothes are ethically made.
Support companies that care about their people and the planet.
Hold brands accountable for what they produce and how they produce it.

I demanded recycling

64% of our fabrics this season are made with recycled materials. Less than 10% of the fibers produced globally are made with recycled materials.

If more companies used recycled materials, we could all reduce our dependence on oil as a source of raw materials.

I demanded Fair Trade

82% of our line is Fair Trade™ certified. That's more Fair Trade styles than any other clothing brand.

If more companies joined the Fair Trade movement, we could positively impact the lives of thousands of workers around the world.

I demanded hemp

This year, we added hemp to 37 of our models. Currently, hemp represents less than 0.1% of the global fiber market.

If the textile industry used more hemp, we could extract less oil, use less synthetic fertilizer, and improve soil quality.

I demanded Yulex® Natural Rubber

100% of our wetsuits are made with FSC®-certified natural rubber. Less than half of the rubber produced in the world is natural.

If more companies used natural rubber, we could all reduce our need for oil as a source of raw materials.

I demanded a Traceable Pen from the Global Traceable Down Standard

100% of the virgin down in our products is certified with the Global Traceable Down Standard (TDS).

No other outdoor clothing brand uses only TDS-certified down for its down products.

I demanded the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)

We require that all our wool be certified by the Recycled Wool Standard (RWS).

Less than 1% of the wool used in the world is RWS certified.

I demanded it be repaired

This year we repaired more than 56,000 garments.

11.2 million tons of textiles ended up in a landfill during 2017.

I demanded quality

100% of the products we make are backed by our Iron Guarantee.

In the last 15 years, the average number of times a garment is worn before being discarded has decreased by 36% globally.

If the textile industry prioritized durability, we would consume less energy, use less water, and generate less waste.
