GRANTS - Environmental Donations Program
Each year we donate the equivalent of 1% of our global sales. These funds reach environmental organizations around the world, allowing us to support local groups in the regions and communities where we operate.
Since 1985, Patagonia's Environmental Donations Program has donated over $78 million in cash and services to more than 824 organizations worldwide. In Argentina, we have donated US$446,500 to over 30 organizations carrying out projects throughout the country.
GENERAL GUIDELINES
Patagonia funds only environmental work. We are primarily interested in awarding grants to organizations that identify and address the root causes of conflict with a long-term commitment. Because we believe the most effective way to create change is from the ground up, our funding focuses on organizations with strong community support.
We support small, action-oriented activist groups with provocative agendas and versatile campaigns to protect and preserve our environment. We believe that individual battles to protect a forest, a section of a river, or threatened native species are more effective at raising awareness and influencing public opinion. We help local groups and their communities protect their habitats through bold and original actions that generate measurable results and impact authorities.
Because we are a privately owned company, we have the freedom to fund unconventional groups, and we believe that's where our Grants are most effective.
When applying, you should keep in mind that:
We fund projects that:

- They perpetuate systemic prejudice and discrimination based on ethnicity, race, religion, color, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, nationality, ancestry, citizenship, veteran status, or disability status.
- They do not belong to organizations classified as "Non-profit organizations" .
- They are for the creation, maintenance or restoration of trails.
- These are programs for fish farming, infrastructure for fish transit with human assistance, or dam renovation.

- They must be for research purposes, unless they are in direct support of an existing plan to alleviate an environmental problem.
